We arrived in Istanbul after traveling through, among others, Slovakia, Hungary, and Romania in Eastern Europe, and one of the first things that struck us was the friendliness and smiles. Whether it was here or other parts of the country later in the trip, the same thing happened again – you encounter an incredible level of hospitality - that alone makes the country worth a visit.
